Comix

It was Comic-Con in San Diego last weekend! The Mekka for all comic book geeks. And I’m one of them. Of course San Diego is a bit too far for me ;)

But I’m looking forward to read up on all the news from the event. Nice chance to learn about comics, writers and artists I’ve never heard of! I already know a few but I’m not that obsessed with it… Contrary to some of my other interests lol :P

Anyway talking about writers! Some of my favourite writers are Grant Morisson, Alan Moore & Neil Gaiman. If one of those has written the comic you’re holding in your hands you know one thing for sure. It will be mind blowing! :)

Series I especially enjoyed of those writers were Grant Morrison’s The Filth, Alan Moore’s Promethea and last but definitely not least Neil Gaiman’s Sandman. If you haven’t read those, do it right away. Alan Moore’s Promethea is perhaps a little bit cheese but I’ve learnt more about the Occult in that Comic then I did in all those books I read.

Of course I also enjoy the usual pulp like Batman and all the spin-offs, the X-Men and Hellboy. I also enjoy European comics from time to time. When I was a youngster I’ve read all the Trigie comics from Don Lawrence. I also enjoyed his Storm series (seriously considering buying the whole Pandarve series).

Now why all this gibberish? Because I stumbled on a link with all those fine comic babes :) Here they are:

UO :: Occultrance

Last tuesday it was Uur Obscuur time again! The dutch podcast about obscure electronic music my girlfriend and I host at the Villa Bota webradio.

We had DJ Brendis as a guest. He’s a spacerock dj who co-organises an interesting festival this weekend called Occultrance.

If you’re into goatrance you’ll like it. But if you’re into obscure rock, you’ll like it even more.

Last year we attended for My Sleeping Karma, a German “Krautrock” band form Elektrohasch records. (Google that label some nice gems over there)

Still in doubt if we’ll attend this year though, with this great summer we’re having… Anyway if you want to listen to the last podcast you can on our mixcloud:

f.Art!

Found this back in my “Read it later” bookmarks… although it should’ve been in the “Watch it later” section :)

This putted a gigantic smile on my face! Watch, enjoy and be inspired!

Use art to turn the world inside out | Video on TED.com

TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences — the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh UK each summer — TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Project and TED Conversations, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize.

Remembrance of the past

Last year I didn’t make any music… Recently I started again, but I’m rusty, very rusty. My snares don’t pop, my kicks pound too much and my sequencing sucks :D

I enjoy making music but I hate the technical part! :( Anyway I hope my new track will be ready when the new moon rises on the night’s sky, in the mean time, check out these old tracks.

Some tracks I’m very fond of, others I really don’t like anymore. I think my favourite is Crossing the Styx and Liber.25. That’s it! Maybe I’ll upload the recording of the my last liveset one day :) Maybe not :P

Brambo.be

Brambo.be… Why? Why not?

Anyway my internet subscription came with a free domain name… And I always wanted to have brambo.beĀ  (yes I can be egocentric from time to time, like you never act like that ;)

But brambo.be used to be a stupid ring tones site. No I didn’t own it! ;) And one day the stupid ring tone site was gone! So I took it as fast as I could :-D and now I own Brambo.be and regret I didn’t take UurObscuur.be lol (web-radioshow I do with my girlfriend)

Now this was the Brambo.be old site, pretty lame! So I thought why not try a CMS system? And I tried WordPress and here we are now… But now I have to provide content I guess? :P

We’ll see how it evolves… Chaotic I guess.
